Must the sock be green? The sock MUST be green! It can have a logo or picture on it but the sock itself must be green
The Rules
GSOLFOT
Signing guest books & emails Every guest book that you visit should be signed with GSOLFOT as well as your name. (This also applies to emails to lists). This will help in our effort for global recognition; failure in this will result in the offender washing socks
Artisan Status Artisan Status is given to any member whose work is deemed to be of a certain quality and standard. You can apply for A.S. or submit someone else's name for this award
Professional Idiot The P.I is awarded by myself for service to the club and proving to me that you truly are worthy of the title "Professional Idiot". If you want to get technical, P.I. in training is something you choose yourself, but that doesn't mean you will be promoted! Everyone is entitled to apply for a training certificate but they are in limited supply. As a place becomes free (as trainees get promoted) the next trainees get put on the list. In the meantime other titles get awarded, but cannot be applied for, as and when I feel that a member has shown suitability for such a position.
Chocolate cake and green champagne Chocolate cake is "The Official Club Food". Of course as this is a virtual club, the cake is virtual and therefore contains no calories. Our club drink is a green champagne cocktail.
Unsubscribing/No mail/daily digests/individual mail When going away on holiday, leaving, or when you need to change the way you receive your mail please go to the yahoo list and then to your preferences where you can change what you want.
Swaps Swaps are run every now and then. We try to be friendly with our swaps and not competitive. Each swap is usually worth about £5 or $9 US. We try to pair you up with an international partner but if you find the shipping costs a problem then you may choose to ask for a swap inside your own country.
Brussel sprouts Brussel sprouts are banned inside any Official club building. The mention of them on the list is also banned, as is insinuation of the same, teasing, pictures or hints.

Squiggles and stars If you see strange marks after a persons name it means they have earned a "squiggle". These are earned just by participation in the club. If you have been showing keenness or have done something special, I will add a squiggle on the Officers Page. These are rarely announced so you will have to check on a regular basis to see if you have earned anything. *** = # ~ ~ ~ = ^ # # # = % ^ ^ ^ = Z ABC member is highest rank
The Calendar The Calendar is open to you all, you can put special dates in yourselves, Birthdays and anniversaries gives us a chance to congratulate you! NO dentist appointments though. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheGSOLFOTClub

Offices & Titles explained by Polly........... It is easy to get an office...........first you need a title...... Think of one suitable for yourself, then you have to go to the site and check to see whether the title you want is spoken for, if not you check with Noni and she ok's it. Once you are given an office you then arrange with me (Caretaker with all the keys) for me to give you the keys. I am resident janitor so to speak and I often walk these corridors 24/7 making sure all the offices are kept in an orderly fashion and that doors, hinges and plaques are in situ. Once you have your keys I will engrave your title on your plaque and fit it ASAP. To summarise 1. Get a title 2. Get an Office # 3. Move in and decorate and tell us what the decor is.

The Trails The Trails are like Treasure hunts only on the internet. 20 questions given out one a day. You collect the answers by looking through search engines and save them until you have all 20 answers. Once finished you to send a list of the answers to The Oz (not the list). If more than one person has the correct answers then the names are put in a draw. You will learn about the trivia and interesting things you never knew you needed to know! You will learn how to use search engines and more about your computer. Once you have done one Trail it gets easier and easier, although that doesn't mean that the questions get easier! To anyone that has never attempted a Trail before, please ask on the list for the members who regularly have played, they will tell you that although it can take time, and sometimes be frustrating, it is well worth it in the end and it is certainly fun! One question a day is really not too much time taken up is it? Please try the next Trail, even if you have no faith in your ability you might be surprised how much you find out. I will nudge along the newest members as I did the first time we played this, so any serious problems please email me privately. I WILL NOT give out answers but I might help you find out how to get them!

Email etiquette by Jacqui When you want to include text from a Digest, please highlight only the text you wish to quote, then hit "copy" and in your reply hit "paste". If you use keyboard commands hit <control> or <command> C to copy and <control> or <command> V to paste. (The command keys are for the Mac.) Please do not hit "reply" to an entire Digest as it becomes very confusing when the entire digest is printed in your email
Photographs Any photographs should be sent to me, Noni, not emailed to the list, or can be added to the Photos section on the Yahoo groups page. Please make sure that the pictures you send to me are sized correctly at no more than 100dpi and about 6 inches at the widest/highest point. If it is larger than 1 Meg I DO NOT want it.
